Rub earwax on your fever blister and it will be cured much, much quicker. Within a day or so.

I suffered from periodic fever blisters for 40 years until my nephew told me to use Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). I took a q-tip and dab it on as soon a I feel the blister starting. Not only did does if make it go away… for what ever reason it reduces the occurrence. I use to have on every couple of months and now maybe 1-2 per year. DMSO dissolves both polar and non-polar compounds and in theory can penetrate the virus’s nearly impenetrable membrane.

I cannot believe people are actually saying things like apply bleach, pop it with a needle, or put nail polish remover on it. These things are absolutely dangerous and should never be done!

Whenever I get a fever blister, I apply Vicksburg and wait it out. But since having my son, whom I love to kiss, I was looking for things that would work faster. I’ve since put Desitin and a bandage over it. I don’t have rubbing alcohol or anything. I have tea bags and may try that too.

Please do not follow these other very dangerous methods of “home remedies”. Bleach and acetone are not supposed to go directly on the skin!

Whenever I feel the tingling of an upcoming blister, I wet it, rub it with something GOLD and normally it won’t even come up, it just goes back to sleep ūüėČ

No oil, no medecine, nothing, just GOLD, a ring, a coin, whatever

I have had many ongoing side effects of chicken pox. The pesky painful blisters is one of them. Someone told me about Lecithin. It is nothing new … discovered in the 1800s I think. Now, it is used in many different ways. Look it up. I take one every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It is very rare that I have to take more. BUT, IF I GET THAT LITTLE TINGLE AND THE FEELING OF HAVING A LITTLE FEVER WHICH USUALLY PRECEDES MY BREAKOUTS, I GO TAKE LECITHIN EVERY 6 HOURS. Sometimes this is enough to completely avoid anything worse out of this episode. HOWEVER, IF THE BLISTERS DO APPEAR, I USE A SWAB AND GENEROUSLY PUT ON A COAT OF LECITHIN OINTMENT. You can put this on as often as you like.

You can get Lecithin products at probably all health food stores, many other stores, and online. I just happen to get mine from Puritan Pride. I really like to support the health food stores but my budget is very small. Therefore, I get what I can online. Just be sure that the place you buy is reputable. If you need information, then the health food store is the place to start if you don’t have a doctor who will guide you through the alternative medicine path.

We are so blessed to have a family doctor who grew up as the son of a missionary doctor in South America. Our doctor was educated in the US and then returned to practice along side his father. Pharmaceuticals were rarely available. But, the vegetation around them supplied most of their needs. Thus, they have a treasure trove of information and experience in the alternative field.

RELEEV ointment, found near the abreva in stores. Apply it every couple hours to prevent, treat, and shorten the time of a blister. I know it’s not a home remedy, but it does help.

Tea Tree oil is the way to go. I applied a mix of tea tree oil and peppermint oil and it dried up in two days. Apply them several times a day. Once dried, apply some lip moisturizer to prevent cracking and bleeding. It worked like crazy.

Hi guys! So we all hate dealing with fever blisters. The top two annoyances are they are unattractive and painful. so of course I want to get rid of the unattractive blister smack dab on my lip as fast as I can. Sometimes it’s hard to get these blisters right when they start and before you know it you have the fluid filled pocket on your lip. The only home remedy that has seemed to work with me when it’s at the fluid pocket stage is popping it. Yes popping it. I was very skeptical about doing so because one, the fluid could run everywhere spreading the blisters and two it could just be down right painful. I did much research on popping it, on if it was safe or not and it is.
Things you need: gauze/paper towel, and a sterilized needle
1. Wash your hands and dab the blister clean
2. Hold the gauze or paper towel around the blister and (With a sterilized needle) gently poke the fluid pocket until the fluid comes out.
3. Use your gauze or paper towel to keep the fluid from going any where and keep it on the blister until it stops oozing. I’ve usually just applied pressure with the gauze or paper towel on the blister for a good 10 minutes

I have also used pure alovera after doing this to help speed it up a little more. Once it’s popped it should start scabbing over by the next day. I usually apply alovera to help keep it clean and not dry out my lip too.

I hope this helps!

most remedies point out that they work best if you apply them at the first sign of the fever blister/cold sore. but what if you wake up with one, or are stuck at work? what do you do once it’s too late and the fever blister is fully developed? TEA is the answer!

using the following method i was able to turn my cold sore into a scab in less than 24 hours:

-make yourself tea using a fresh tea bag. any regular tea will do, doesn’t have to be green tea. put the tea bag aside and let it cool down. when cool enough -and still plenty wet- apply it to your cold sore for 20-30 minutes (lie down and watch some tv).

-next, apply a generous amount of Tea Tree Oil all over the fever blister using a clean cotton swap. this stuff has a very strong smell and taste, but it has a million uses so go out and get yourself a small bottle.

that’s it.. within a couple hours you’ll notice the swelling begin to go down and the blister harden. repeat the process again before bed if you have time (or just re-apply the Tea Tree Oil if you don’t) and in the morning your lip will be normal size and a dark scab will be forming.

If all of these remedies fail, you can cut a small piece from a fabric type of band aid and put it over the fever blister. At least you will be able to cover your ruby red flashing neon sign with something that is more presentable.

To be sure you will still be self conscious but you can get on a bus or train and most people won’t notice it.

I woke up with a fever blister Wednesday morning. Each day it grew bigger and more painful. Not only did the fever blister get bigger, my lip was swollen, the side of my face was swollen and painful to the touch. I used some sort of ointment but it was not working. Lately I have moved to using more natural ways of healing myself. I found this website and bought myself some tea tree oil. I mixed with a part tea tree oil and part olive oil. I did not have any eucalyptus oil so I left that out. I started applying the mixture about 4-hours ago and have made 3-applications so far. It works..!! It works…!! It works…! The swelling has gone down, my lip has deflated, the pain in the side of my face is gone and I have only used it for the last 4-hours. I will be using this for some other stuff on my body as well. I will updated in a few days. I hope that the blister will be completely gone…!! Loved it..!!

Was plagued by frequent fever blisters most .mt life. Found out it was caused by eating peanuts or peanut butter(which I adore), also sesame seeds, squash… I know, ouch, love them all but the feed the amino acid the feeds the cold sore/fever blister virus that we carry and lowers our lysine level. Lysine is in most treatments and I take the supplement also. Getting to much sun and a fever also causes a breakout. Always use chapstick with sunscreen. Wowbutter (wmart) GOOD no nuts

I read once in a blog that ice prevents fever blisters. Its true! The trick isto apply ice AS SOON AS you feel it start to tingle! Just hold an ice cube on the area until it melts, about 10 minutes, no less tgan 5. And it will stop it from developing! Havent had one in 2 years, except thd time I didn’t apply ice soon enough & it partially developed. If you do haceone that develops, topical vitamin c at first & neosporin cream in scab stages will help it heal faster. L-lysine & vitamin c taken internally definitely help prevent getting them at all, but I just hse the ice method & it works like a charm!

I haven’t had a blister in maybe over a year. I had one pop up about a WEEK ago!!! I have used apple cider vinegar the first couple of days, dabbing it on throughout the day. After that I started using abreva and occasionally vinegar. Anyway, right now I’m gon through the nasty scab phase. Is there anyway I can get rid of this thing without burning my lip off??!! Please HEEEELLLLLPPPP!!!!

This will not be a quick relief from a fever blister already on the lip. But if you will take a 500 mg. pill of L-Lysine dietary supplement everyday you will prevent them from ever coming back. I use to get one on my lip in the same spot every 6 weeks just like clock work. since starting L-Lysine I have not been bothered once with them. It really works. And yes stress does bring them on.

Someone in this forum mentioned lysine+ and the supplement L-Lysine. After suffering and trying out all the other remedies like honey which work for a while. I went and bought Lysine+ over my lunch break. Within one hour, my lips were drying out, blisters popping and relief is at hand. I had huge puffy lips for about three days with no end in sight. Thank you to those posters to mentioned it. Lysine+ is so amazing.. seriously amazing. I get fb any time I go to the pool or the beach so having this is so amazing.
