I wet the bed as a child and I do not think anything would have helped as I was just a deep sleeper and grew out of it in my early teens. I went on to adopt two kids and swore they would never be told of for wetting their beds. My solution was to make very little of it with the help of investing in 2 fully platic specialist mattereses, similar to the ones you find in caravan holiday camps. Basically no offensive smells in the bedrooms, just strip the beds and wash down with shampoo ect I found that the products on the market were useless to prevent mattresses being ruined. Plastic covers not working effectively and difficult to wash. The mattress cost £70.00 each from the internet and when the kids no longer needed them I gave them away on freecycle to a mum who appreciated them. Therefore another generation of children avoiding the useless pointless repremands for bedwetting, Result.

Bedwetting Remedy:
As I child I struggled with bedwetting and was deeply ashamed in myself. I desperatly searched for remedies yet was unable to find any, Until I discovered honey and cinamon, I personaly dislike honey but found it was delicouse in an iceblock and also it was a subsitute for sugar. Cinamon and banana on toast is also very tasty and a healthy breakfast, I hope that I you are either the patent or the child seeking a good cure for bedwetting that this was in some way helpful.

cheers to you all on this blog,
I am a 47 years old female mother of three beautiful children.
i was a bed wetter since my childhood and was punished and tortured for that hereditary gene I have. It was a misery when I woke up wet and smelling awe-full beside my husband at the time, I wished death over that humiliating feeling. I reached for remedies all my life and tried many, but none worked for me. my three children (15, 13, 11) wet there bed almost every night, if one doesn’t do it, the other two will; every morning I wash sheet and blankets… I never yell at them or make an issue out off it, and they are doing well in their social life with friends and classmates. However, I feel the sadness they hide or try to hide from me every morning when they run to the bathroom wet of urine. they break my hearts and i feel helpless and blame myself for being the bed wetting gene transmitter. after my divorce(7 years ago) I started consuming honey in great amount, I buy buckets of raw honey and eat with a spoon at different times of the day. actually, honey is the first food I eat in the morning and the last food i eat before going to bed. my addiction to honey stopped the bed-wetting problem and i could sleep dry for many years now. my children don’t like honey that much and even they take once they will not repeat it again. finally, I advice all the suffering readings to please get yourselves addicted to honey as it makes us dehydrated and dries our mouths, so the body secretes more of ADH hormone that slows down or stops urination, as part of our sympathetic system’s job. and to PARENTS please don’t punish your children for wetting their beds they could not help it be nice and understanding they need you more than you think. good luck to all.

After not receiving help from the pediatrician (wait for her to grow out of it isn’t really helpful) and my daughter suffering for years with bedwetting, we found a bedwetting clinic and treatment (run by Dr. Jacob Sagie) which uses a specific bedwetting alarm combined with behavioral therapy. They have an at-home treatment option called TheraPeel that anyone with a home computer can use. Highly recommended.

The solution, in many cases, to bed wetting is simple but perhaps somewhat counter-intuitive.
The person who feels that they might wet the bed tends to sleep on their back thinking that gravity will prevent anything untoward happening.
If instead they sleep with their body in the first aid recovery position so that their front is inclined towards the mattress then a dry night’s sleep is likely to result.

Hi all u frustrated parents, I have two amazing boys one is 5 and a half and the other is 3. My 3 year old son was so quick and easy to day train he was done within a week at the age of 2. By 2 and a half he had three dry nights and I removed his nappy and he has been dry since. As for my 5 and a half year old he almost took 2 years to day train we started when he was 2 and sent his to kinder still training at 3 and a half. I read other sudjestions on this site which got me to go to the health food shop and they sudjested Kali phos. I bought it on saturday and started it straight away, I am surprised, excited and so proud to say that it is only Tuesday and he has had two dry nights.. We have had the alarm pad and that showed us that he wet min 5 times a night and he never heard the alarm…
Good luck to all u other parents and I hope this helps someone out there because it has helped us…

I wetted bed heavily as a child until 9yrs and it gradually decreased until 13yrs. Later in my early to mid 20, it reoccured about two to three times when I started working night shift. I was so sleep deprived that one night when I had the night off, I went into a very deep sleep. It was the best sleep ever but when I woke up, my bed was wet. I started laughing because I just cracked the mastery of bed wetting, I thought to myself. ‘Deep sleeping stops the brain from getting the signal that we have to pee’. I also have two kids. A 9yr old that wets the bed and a 5yr old that doesn’t. One night when they were sleeping in a hotel room I applied Vaseline on their dry lips. The five yr old moved her head in response to the touching she felt, but the 9yr old laid like a dead body.she didn’t even realize she was being touched. This just corroborated my hypothesis that Deep sleeping is a major cause of bed wetting. Since then I bought a very loud alarm clock for my 9yr old and she sets it for 2hrs post bed time. Cos that’s when she usually wets the bed. She’s been waking up dry more often.

Sending out a big hug to all moms and children dealing with nightly bedwetting. I have a child who wet the bed nightly (often several times) until he was 8 years old. At first, I just invested in a couple pair of washable, waterproof underwear lots to choose from in lots of different sizes even waterproof boxers. And used a waterproof sheet protector to minimize the laundry.
New medical studies have found that constipation may be a mojor factor in bedwetting. And snoring or sleep apnea can be a cause too.
At the age of seven the bedwetting began to chip away at his self esteem. We solved his bed wetting by using an alarm. A child who wets at night has a sleep pattern in which the brain does not react to the full bladder signal. The alarm gradually trains the child’s brain to react. He went from being wet every single night to completely dry in about 6 weeks. The bed wetting alarm has given us years of dry nights.
My child absolutely loved the children’s book, Prince Bravery and Grace – Attack of the Wet Knights. It is the story of a young prince who struggles with ‘the Wet Knights’ and eventually defeats them by using an alarm. It’s funny yet empathetic and gave him the understanding and motivation to end the bed wetting. The best advice for parents about how to stop bedwetting I found is the book, Seven Steps to Nighttime Dryness, by Renee Mercer. Invest in the books-they make the process so much easier, then an alarm -its the best decision I ever made. www.braveryandgrace.com

A friend of mine took her 9 year old daughter to a chiropractor to see if they could help her stop wetting the bed. The doctor said sometimes there is a bone in the pubic area that doesn’t form right while the child is growing. She then adjusted the little girl and helped that bone sit the way it was supposed to. To my knowledge…she has never wet the bed again and she has graduated college now!

A safe and effective bedwetting remedy is to take Cornsilk capsules – my 7 yr old has always wet the bed thoroughly every night. I was recommended by a herbalist to try Cornsilk and bedwetting stopped the first night and ever since has been dry!

I was 19 years old and had wet the bed all my life, it was terrible…I couldn’t go to school camps and stay over friends places, some times I did and I wet the bed..At one camp the teacher came out with my sheets in front of all the kids and said who the dirty person who did this…is I have many stories… My parents took me to doctors, we tried everything… medicine, alarms … nothing worked….
Then I was recommended to go to a Hypnotherapist which I thought was strange. I turned up for my first session and lay on a table. The specialist asked me to relax, relax and fall into a passive relaxed state of mind. He taught me to become so relaxed I was awake, but in a different state of mind. He taught me to feel a heat in my mind that made my toes warm and tingling; he then taught me to move this energy to my legs, knees and eventually move this energy to different parts of my body. I was 19 years old and very sceptical about the whole lot, but followed his program which became self hypnotism. Eventually I could move this energy and heat to my fingers, which he then asked me to move to my bladder, he said feel your bladder, move the heat, the energy, which I did. He then said every time I go to the toilet, stop, start then as you do this, move the energy to this area. I started doing this and practising self hypno therapy at the same time. My bed wetting stopped, I mean completely stopped, I was 19 and free…
I used this self hypnosis all through my live to deal with many things and it is amzing.I am 47 now and never wet the bed since this worked for me ,I used to before wet the bed every night until I was 19.Thats my story and it true.

Pull ups are for every age. I wet my bed as a kid and slept in smelly sheets (because I hid the problem). Would have preferred pull ups! I don’t damage my son’s ego now, he’ll get there eventually, as I did. I used to have anxiety dreams about searching for toilets but not being able to access them (eg it was giant sized, or I couldn’t find it). I’d wake in a wet bed. My mind was trying to tell me I needed a wee while I slept but my body couldn’t wake up. Where’s the shame in that? However, my son suffers the above too, but, he too will do a lazy pull up wee soon after he wakes in the morning, and it often leaks. Maybe the commenters are all a little right then?

Just like what someone else mentioned, please try a chiropractor. I did it with my son (who was one of those kids NOTHING helped) and after the first treatment was accident free. It didn’t hurt at all. He got his back adjusted and accupuncture done on his lower abdomen (there was no needles involved)
This has done wonders for his self esteem. NO ONE was allowed to make him feel bad over this. And as a parent if you are, remember you made your child and by not getting them the proper help, you ARE FAILING your child.

Well I stopped wetting the bed about a year ago and I’m 14. Turns out that I was just an incredibly heavy sleeper which cause me to not be able to wake up AND snoring. As soon as I got my adenoids removed, they both stopped. If you have snoring issues you might wanna look into this..

A lot of people are skeptics about chiropractors but a friend made a believer out of me. Our chiropractor has cured my families ear infections, that hacking cough when you lay down, and even bed wetting. As far as the bed wetting goes, a child goes through growth spurts and this can cause your bones/spine to pinch on nerves, the nerves that trigger ‘hey I gotta pee’! When you have your childs body ‘popped and cracked’ it relieves the nerves letting them work properly again. 4 kids, it worked on all of them.

Bedwetting for some children can be alleviated by not giving them any milk after school until next morning for a few weeks until they stop wetting the bed. Then gradually give them a little more each day. Some childrens’ brains are not wired right away to get the signal to get up and go at night when their bladder is full. This works well for kids that sleep right through the bedwetting. It worked for mine!!

I wet the bed until i was about 13 years old. One thing that got me to finally stop is a few tips that i heard from other people. One tip is that after six o’clock i wouldn’t drink any milk. Then i wouldn’t drink anything before bed. If my mouth was dry i would just garle water. Once i started doing these things i compeletly stopped wetting the bed.

The Ex-Bedwetter

Hi there,

I stopped wetting the bed about 1 and half ago and im 13.
I stopped by setting my alarm clock to whatever time and i’d wake up about every 2 hours.
If that does workout for whatever reason dont drink any liquids about 2 hourse before bed and make sure you empty your bladder right before going to bed.
Another one that my doctor told was to drink water all day until 2 hours before my bedtime and anytime during the day you have to pee than go and dont hold it in even if its just a little bit.
