1. Bury the Evidence

Pat Owens, Valley Stream, New York wrapped her cigarettes in a plastic bag and buried them in a flower pot so she would have dig them up and bury them again each time she wanted a cigarette. She was able to kick her habit 18 years ago because of this.

2. The bribe

Eric Katzman, Queens, New York quit smoking on a dare in 2002. His friend bet him he couldn’t quit for 1 month. Being as competitive as he was, he took on the bet. His prize was a steak at renowned steak house, Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn.

3. The fine

Kevin Gerard Kilpatrick, San Diego, California, made a deal with himself that he could have 1 cigarette a day if he quit his pack a day habit. Last summer he only smoked 2 cigarettes and during the fall he didn’t smoke any.

9. Get dirty

Jessica Ward, Kent, Wash had a grandmother who threw all her cigarettes away except one. She left the last cigarette on top of a range hood in the kitchen.
